Home / Pest Control / End of Lease Pest Control & Flea Treatment
Are you moving out? If so, it’s time to get professional pest control.
The real problem
Moving out comes with a checklist, and pest control is usually near the bottom of it, until your agent brings it up at the final inspection.
If you kept a pet at the property, end-of-lease flea treatment is a standard condition of tenancy agreements here in Queensland.
Getting it done properly, and getting proof of it, is what stands between you and your bond.
Moving Out
Many rental agreements include a specific stipulation for tenants to schedule and receive an end of lease pest control service as you vacate the property.
Our recommendation is that it’s the last thing you do before you move.
“Once everything is out of the house and the carpet is cleaned, it will be easier to treat the entire house, including around baseboards, bathrooms, and other hard-to-reach places.”
Agent requirements
Most agents won’t just take your word for it: they want proof.
If pets lived at the property, your agent will typically expect documented proof that a flea treatment has been carried out before they sign off on your final inspection. We provide a receipt/documentation your agent will accept, so there’s nothing to argue about on inspection day.
Pet Owners
If you own pets, it’s a good idea to make sure they haven’t attracted and left fleas in your rental home.
In fact, it may be necessary to have an end of lease flea spray in order to claim your bond back.
If fleas are inside the home, they can be a headache for the next tenant.
If fleas are inside the home, they can spread disease.
If fleas are inside the home, they can create an unsanitary environment.
What's included
No pets at the property? A standard general pest treatment is $260, see our price list for details.
Timing
Book once your furniture is out, or your removalist is booked. With the house empty, we can treat baseboards, corners and other hard-to-reach places properly.
Book after your carpets have been cleaned, and leave enough time for both visits: the second treatment, 10–14 days later, is what finishes the job, so schedule with your final inspection date in mind.
Questions
If you kept a pet at the property, yes, end-of-lease flea treatment is a standard condition of tenancy agreements here in Queensland, and most agents will expect to see it done before they release your bond.
$360, and that covers two treatments 10–14 days apart, not just one visit.
Flea eggs keep hatching after the first treatment. The second visit, 10–14 days later, is what actually breaks the life cycle. One-visit treatments fail for exactly this reason.
Yes, we provide a receipt/documentation that your agent will accept as proof the treatment has been carried out.

The interior of the property, and where fleas persist, we also treat the subfloor, garage and outdoor harbourage areas.
End-of-lease flea treatment applies where pets were kept at the property. If you didn’t have pets, a general pest treatment ($260) covers standard end-of-lease pest requirements instead: call Mick on 0401 166 155 to confirm what your agent needs.
